Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Crystal Palace has signed a potential replacement for Marc Guehi.
With Guehi’s contract at Crystal Palace expiring next summer, Liverpool believe they have a unique chance to secure the Chelsea academy graduate for a fee below market value.
The 25-year-old’s homegrown status is another important factor for Liverpool, as it helps satisfy the Premier League’s squad registration rules.
DaveOCKOP.com has been reporting diligently on the transfer, first revealing the Reds’ interest back in March of this year.
We also exclusively revealed that Liverpool is willing to pay up to £30M up front for Guehi, which was since corroborated by Romano.
And it looks like the South London club are doing their utmost to ensure they are prepared for their star defender’s departure.
Fabrizio Romano has reported that Toulouse centre-back Jaydee Canvot is on his way to become a Palace player, with the deal now agreed.
It’s believed that the South London club will pay around €20m for the 20-year-old.
A France Under-21 regular and featured in U21 European Championship in the summer off-season.
He made his senior debut in December 2022 in a 2–1 Coupe de France win.

Meanwhile, Oliver Glasner is not exactly happy about the Guehi situation.
Speaking in his pre-Aston Villa press conference, the Austrian manager lamented that finding an adequate replacement would be near impossible:
“From my side, he has to [still be a Crystal Palace player] because it’s not possible at the moment to find a Marc Guehi replacement who can play straight in the Premier League, being a starter, being consistent,” he said.
“When we see our foundation of success in the last few months, it’s our defence… Marc is a crucial part.”
“Getting the right replacement in now is almost impossible.”
