Barcelona attacking midfielder will issue statement on future amid Chelsea interest

Barcelona youngster Fermin Lopez will break his silence on his future this Friday afternoon, according to the latest report from SPORT.

After several hectic days and much noise surrounding his future, with Chelsea very interested in securing his services before the transfer window closes, the 22-year-old midfielder will issue a statement to announce his definitive decision.

It should make it clear whether or not Fermin will form part of Hansi Flick’s squad for the 2025/26 season.

A very important player for the German coach, Fermin had already stated after the Gamper Trophy that he had no intention of leaving this summer.

In recent days, however, Chelsea have tempted him with a very attractive financial offer that has cast doubt on his continuity at Barcelona.

Barcelona, for their part, hope to keep hold of their academy graduate and, as such, have slapped a prohibitive €90 million price tag on him to discourage Chelsea.

But the Blues are further set to ramp up their pursuit of the Spanish international after missing out on the signing of Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig.

With growing speculation surrounding his future, later today, Fermin himself will reveal publicly whether the London club has convinced him or not.

It should be remembered that Fermin postponed his scheduled appearance on The Residency App, which had been set for Thursday at 19:00, and this move fuelled speculation about his future.

Those doubts will be cleared up today, in a statement that will put an end to all the rumours surrounding him.
