Barcelona midfielder Gavi is a doubt for his team’s La Liga match against Rayo Vallecano on Sunday after suffering a knee injury during Friday’s training session.
According to Catalunya Ràdio, Gavi will undergo further tests to assess the damage of a knock he suffered in training, though the initial report does specify if the injury is to Gavi’s surgically repaired knee.
The report says it’s a scare and the injury isn’t expected to be serious, but we won’t know for sure until the tests are done and his status for the match at Rayo is up in the air as of now.
Anything injury-related when it comes to Gavi’s knee is a big deal given he missed over a year with an ACL and meniscus tear, and he’s finally looking like himself again after a brilliant preseason and two strong performances off the bench in Barça’s first two games of the season.
