Dave Portnoy's Chicago Bears Remark Sparks Buzz

The 2025 NFL season is right around the corner and the Chicago Bears have been hopeful of being a playoff contender. That goal just became much more difficult following the Thursday blockbuster trade that saw superstar pass rusher Micah Parsons moved to the Green Bay Packers.

Caleb Williams and company will now have to deal with facing Parsons twice each year. As a team, the Packers just improve immensely as well.

Last season, the Bears struggled to protect Williams. They gave up 68 sacks on their rookie quarterback. In order to be a playoff caliber team, that will need to change.

Chicago did get ahead of the game during the offseason by trading for both Joe Thuney and Jonah Jackson. The team also went out in NFL free agency and signed free agent center Drew Dalman. Will that be enough to keep Williams upright?

Following the trade that sent Parsons to the Packers, Dave Portnoy spoke out on social media with a brutal reality check for the Bears.

"Fastest end of a Bears season ever?" he wrote.

It didn't take long for fans to comment their opinions back to Portnoy on his post. There was a split reaction to his opinion.

"Isn't Jordan Love the Packers quarterback? Not concerned," one fan wrote.

Another chimed in, "Bears have no left tackle and Caleb holds the ball forever, hes cooked."

"Jordan owns the Bears just like Rodgers did," a third fan commented.

A fourth fan said, "Bears going to surprise a lot of folks."

"Last I checked, he never won the Cowboys a SB and Dak is just as good as Love," a fifth comment read.

Needless to say, the NFC North division just got much more interesting. Parsons is a high-impact player and he is going to make his mark in Green Bay right off the bat. There is no question that things are more difficult for Chicago now.

Despite that being a fact, the Bears are an improved football team as well. Ben Johnson is a huge upgrade at head coach for Chicago.

While this isn't a trade that the Bears wanted to see, their season is far from over. It won't be easy, but Chicago still has a very legitimate chance to take a huge step in the right direction during the 2025 NFL season.
