Chelsea working on deal to sign Facundo Buonanotte

Chelsea are currently working on a deal to sign Facundo Buonanotte from Brighton & Hove Albion, according to [journalist Fabrizio Romano](https://x.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1961419253497688107?t=DqQBBoU0XgToqYLu42_SDQ&s=19).

With interest from Olympique Lyon, Borussia Dortmund and Leeds United, Buonanotte has been a man in demand this summer.

He was set for a move to Elland Road and even had a medical scheduled before the move broke down at the final stages.

Buonanotte spent the 2024-25 campaign on loan at Leicester City, where he made a solid impression with six goals and three assists across all competitions.

The 20-year-old has since returned to his parent club but has not featured this term as he steps up his recovery from an injury sustained during preseason.

However, the Argentine youngster could now be set for another year away from the AMEX Stadium with Chelsea now setting their sights on a loan switch.

Chelsea’s pursuit of Buonanotte fits well within their recent strategy of recruiting young, dynamic players who can develop within the club and contribute in the medium to long term.

Buonanotte’s ability to operate in multiple attacking roles would offer Chelsea a variety of options in attack.

Chelsea are in need of attacking reinforcements after missing out on Xavi Simons who is set to join Tottenham Hotspur.

Simons had agreed personal terms with the Blues for some time but they were unable to strike a deal with RB Leipzig.
