Chelsea Monitor Barcelona Midfielder’s Situation in Catalonia

According to emerging reports, Chelsea are intrigued by the situation of Barcelona star Fermin Lopez. The Spanish star could be available for a transfer in the dying hours of the transfer window as the Spanish midfielder considers his options in a World Cup year.

While the Blues are not committed to making a move for the midfielder, they remain attentive to his situation and are admirers of his talent. Lopez reportedly rejected a potential move to Manchester United in the winter window, but could be more open to a move to a more stable team with Champions League football on the cards.

Lopez is a product of Barcelona’s famed La Masia youth development ranks. With Tottenham also involved in a potential move for Chelsea target Xavi Simons, the Blues could pivot quickly to the Spaniard in a bid to strengthen their impressive squad before the window closes.

The 22-year-old has played 89 times for Blaugrana, scoring 19 times and providing 11 assists to help them to one La Liga, one Copa del Rey, and one Spanish Super Cup.

Chelsea holding out on Nicholas Jackson’s departure

Chelsea are reportedly waiting to see how the Alexander Isak saga plays out before sanctioning a move for Nicholas Jackson to Bayer Munich. A potential loan deal to Bavaria has been all but wrapped up for the Senegalese star, but the show runners at Cobham are keen to have their best cards available for the final hours of the window.

Newcastle were reportedly keen on bringing in a top striker to partner Isak before his demands to leave the club. Despite the arrival of Nick Woltemade, the Magpies could still make an approach for another striker if the Swedish striker is sold.

Liverpool could also pivot to another option of their bid to sign Isak fails, with the Reds having just the recently recruited Hugo Ekitike as a top-level striker ahead of a long campaign.

The Blues, well-renowned for their impressive reading and manipulation of the transfer market, will be keen to have a solution for either side, who will be flush with cash come the dying hours of the market, despite Bayern’s interest in Jackson.
