One of Leeds United’s transfer targets has been given a deadline to leave the club, otherwise he will be expected to play this weekend.
Daniel Farke remains in the market to strengthen his Leeds United squad with just days remaining in the 2025 summer transfer window.
Facundo Buonanotte of Brighton is the latest target to slip through the Whites’ fingers as they look to assemble a squad capable of competing in the Premier League.
Another target, Christantus Uche, appeared set to join Wolves from Getafe; however, Leeds could still hijack this deal with his move to Molineux hitting a stumbling block with the player keen to remain.
Now, Uche could be forced to line up for Getafe as they prepare to face Carlos Corberan’s Valencia side, as the uncertainty surrounding his future continues.

Manager provides update on Leeds United target Christantus Uche
Uche is stuck in the middle of a stand-off at Getafe, with the club desperate to sell him while he wants to remain in La Liga.
Getafe face Valencia on Friday night (29th August), and speaking in his press conference ahead of the game, via Diario AS, their head coach José Bordalás discussed Uche’s future. “Uche is here, Uche isn’t here, he is here, he isn’t here…” Bordalás said.
Before adding: “Honestly, I’m not going to talk about signings and departures. I already said what I thought in my last press conference. Our president understands the needs of the club and the team. If he stays, it’s good news for everyone.

He added, “He’s been working normally. If nothing happens, he’ll be with us [to face Valencia].”
With no deal complete and the fixture with Valencia now just hours away, it appears that the Leeds target will play another game before the end of the transfer window.

Largie Ramazani set to face Leeds United target
There is plenty of interest in the game between Getafe and Valencia for Leeds fans, as Uche looks set to line up in what could be his final game for the club.
The Valencia team is likely to feature recently departed Leeds winger Largie Ramazani, who has linked up with former Leeds assistant coach Corberan at La Mestalla.
With Valencia also linked with a move for Illan Meslier, there is a big crossover between the two clubs at present.
If Uche is interested in a move to Elland Road, he may be tempted to pick the brains of the Leeds alumni he will face as the transfer deadline rapidly approaches.
