Everton offer for midfielder worth €15m rejected – Moyes needs to bid higher

Everton’s offer for West Ham United midfielder Tomáš Souček was worth €15m plus €2m in bonuses, not enough to convince the Hammers.

That’s according to Infotbal, who report that Everton will need to up their offer if they want to sign the Czech Republic midfielder this summer.

They say that reports Everton made a bid for the West Ham midfielder are not wrong, explaining that the Toffees offered around €15m plus €2m in bonuses for the Czech national team captain.

That’s not enough to convince West Ham, who want more money before they will consider letting the midfielder go. The focus is now on whether Everton will come back with a second bid. Reports in England have stated that they will, but Infotbal do not confirm this.

Everton’s interest is, rather obviously, being driven by David Moyes. He worked with Souček during his time at West Ham and made him a key part of his success at the London Stadium. Souček managed 32 goals and 11 assists under him over 207 games.

Now it seems Moyes would like a reunion at Everton but needs to up the money he’s willing to spend if that is to happen.
