NFL coach arrested on domestic battery charge in Florida

Miami Dolphins outside linebackers coach Ryan Crow was arrested Friday in Florida on a charge of domestic battery, according to jail records.

Crow, 37, was arrested in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and booked in Broward County main jail. He was being held without bond as of Friday morning, according to jail records. Additional information regarding his arrest was not immediately available.

Crow has been placed on administrative leave by the Dolphins, the team announced Friday.

“We are aware of the serious matter involving Ryan Crow and (are) currently gathering more information,” the Dolphins said in a statement. “Ryan has been placed on administrative leave effective immediately. We have been in communication with the NFL and will reserve further comment at this time.”

Crow joined the Dolphins as outside linebackers coach in 2024. He previously spent six seasons as a coach for the Tennessee Titans, serving as a defensive assistant, special teams assistant and outside linebackers coach.

Miami opens its 2025 season on Sunday, Sept. 7 against the Indianapolis Colts.

Earlier this week, former NFL assistant coach and University of South Florida head coach Jim Leavitt was arrested in St. Petersburg, Florida, after an argument with his ex-girlfriend became physical, police said. He was charged with felony grand theft and two misdemeanor charges for simple battery and domestic battery.
