Barcelona look like they might be about to hijack Arsenal’s chase for Palmeiras defender Benedetti.
Brazilian journalists Diego Firmino and Felipe Lemos report that talks between the Spanish giants and Palmeiras have picked up pace in recent hours.
Barça have already floated a deal worth around €12m (£10m) plus bonuses, with a plan to park the 19-year-old in their B team from early 2026 so he can get minutes under his belt.
The proposal is said to appeal to Benedetti’s entourage, even if Palmeiras and Abel Ferreira are less enthusiastic.
The left-footed centre-back has long been on Arsenal’s radar, with Mikel Arteta approving the youngster and the Gunners linked with a €10m approach – though the Brazilian side are still holding out for closer to €15m.
With Barcelona pushing ahead, Arsenal could soon find themselves playing catch-up. If they really want this starlet, they’ll need to get moving before he packs his bags for Spain.
