Shilo Sanders, the middle child of NFL Hall of Famer and Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders, is speaking out after being released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The 25-year-old safety, who went undrafted, posted a video to YouTube on Aug. 29, saying he is ready for the next chapter.

“First and foremost, I just want to say, I believe in God,” Shilo said in the video. “I know God always has a plan for me… I feel like this is just part of my story to grow and do bigger and better things. Whether it’s finding another team or getting another opportunity in the NFL.”

Shilo Sanders had a Disappointing Ending to His Time with Bucs

Shilo was battling for a roster spot headed into the final preseason game, but his release came hours after he punched Buffalo Bills tight end Zach Davidson in the first half. Shilo was immediately ejected from the game.

“You can’t throw punches in this league — that’s inexcusable,” Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles said after the game. “They’re going to get you every time. You’ve got to grow from that.”

Shilo remains unsigned to an NFL team, saying he’d be interested in playing more.

“I’ve been talking to my agent and we’re waiting on the next opportunity, if that’s in the NFL, cool,” he said.

Deion supported his son during Colorado media availability in recent days.

“He is mentally where he needs to be, physically where he needs to be. We’re praying that he gets another opportunity to go with a team,” the NFL legend said. “But if he doesn’t, the plans have already been put forward to what he’s going to do next.”

Shilo Sanders Interested in More Music, Acting, Modeling

Shilo revealed in his video that plans include music, acting and modeling, as he’s dabbled in all three.

“You always want to have other interests,” Shilo said. “I’ve always done that my whole life playing football, with music, acting, modeling. I’m well-versed and my parents make sure of that.”

Shedeur Sanders Made the Squad in Cleveland

Shilo’s younger brother, Shedeur, made the Cleveland Browns roster after being drafted in the fifth-round. He is listed as the No. 3 quarterback with the Browns, behind starter Joe Flacco and third-round pick Dillon Gabriel.

Shedeur shined in the preseason opener but struggled in the Browns’ final preseason game, being pulled by head coach Kevin Stefanski, opting to not let the rookie execute a two-minute drive. It could be awhile before Shedeur is given an opportunity to be a QB1 in the NFL after once thought to be a first-round draft pick.

Shilo addressed that in his video. “Ya’ll seen how the draft was,” Shilo said. “Ya’ll know I’m lucky to even get a shot, seeing how Shedeur went. I knew what was gonna happen to me going undrafted.”

Shilo Sanders Remains Ready for Next Opportunity

Shilo thanked the Buccaneers for the opportunity and said he is ready for whatever is next.

“To spend this time with Buccaneers, to be able to learn from all the great coaches we have up there,” Shilo said, “just being in a great building with some great players. It was a great experience for me. I’m forever grateful for that. I’m staying in shape, staying ready for the next opportunity.

“God has a big plan for me.”

And Coach Prime will continue to go to bat for his sons.

“Shilo is a man of many talents, and he’s going to be straight,” said Deion. “All the Sanders are going to be straight, with or without football, you better believe that. I take care of mine, and I always have, and y’all know what I mean.”
