Lee Carsley has called up six of his triumphant Euros side as they begin their quest for a hat-trick in Kazakhstan.
The Young Lions followed up their 2023 triumph with glory in the summer, when they overcame a slow start in Slovakia to go all the way.
England kick-off the new Under-21 Euro qualifying campaign away to Kazakhstan on Monday, September 8 at the Ortalyk Stadion.
Carsley has named a 23-man squad for the trip to Almaty, which includes Euros winners James Beadle, Jack Hinshelwood, Tommy Simkin, Brooke Norton-Cuffy, Archie Gray and Ethan Nwaneri.
Jobe Bellingham was also selected for the tournament but instead played at the Club World Cup after leaving Sunderland for Borussia Dortmund.
Hinshelwood arrived at the finals late but forced his way into the side at left-back and played a large part in Carsley’s masterplan.
Beadle played throughout the tournament in goal having secured a loan move to Birmingham City before heading to Slovakia.
The loan was officially announced when he returned to this country and he has so far played for Blues in two Carabao Cup ties.
Rico Lewis, who has made seven senior England appearances, is included in a group that has a new face in the coaching set-up.
Carsley’s former Republic of Ireland team-mate Steven Reid will join the backroom staff as a player mentor.
Joleon Lescott and Adam Lallana have carried out similar roles in recent years.
