Liverpool are planning to make a formal enquiry for Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers if RB Leipzig meet Harvey Elliott's valuation before the end of the summer transfer window, according to reports.
It's been an enjoyable summer window for Liverpool supporters, with Arne Slot's recruitment team bringing in a host of new, exciting additions. Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez, Hugo Ekitike, and Jeremie Frimpong are among those to have arrived through the door, but the Reds' business doesn't appear to be over just yet.
The Merseyside club are hoping to defend their Premier League title after a sensational 2024/2025 campaign. Clubs around them, such as Manchester City, Arsenal, and Chelsea, have all strengthened significantly, so it's imperative that the Reds don't rest on what they've already achieved and push to lift the league once again this term.
Liverpool Planning Formal Enquiry for Morgan Rogers

According to a report from Football Insider, Liverpool are planning to make a formal enquiry to Aston Villa for Rogers, should Elliott leave the club to join RB Leipzig. The Merseyside outfit have discussed the possibility of signing Rogers, who has been valued at over £100m, before Monday's deadline, with RB Leipzig pushing to close a deal for Elliott. It's claimed that Alexander Isak of Newcastle United, who could cost over £100m, is still a primary target.
It's claimed that Liverpool are hoping to receive an offer in the region of £50m for the England youth international, but a bid of around £45m could seal the deal. Rogers is unlikely to be a direct replacement for Elliott, considering the former can play in a deeper role, but he would certainly add a new dynamic to Liverpool's attack.
Rogers possesses immense pace and dribbling ability, and he could feature out wide as well as through the middle of attack in Slot's system. It won't be an easy deal to do as Rogers has quickly become a key player for Unai Emery, and they are likely to demand a hefty fee, especially so close to the deadline with little time to find a replacement.
Something that might fall in Liverpool's favour is Aston Villa's well-documented financial issues, meaning they might be forced to sell someone in the coming days. It's unclear whether they'll be willing to do so, with such little time left remaining, or whether they look to make a sale in the early stages of next summer's transfer window instead.
