It could prove to be a busy final few days in the summer transfer window for Liverpool as the club look to make last minute additions to their team for the 2025/26 season. The Reds have been active in the window, but may not quite be done yet.

Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak is the name being talked about, but there has been another new name mentioned which could be a perfect addition alongside the forward. But a move for the winger may be one that had to wait until future windows.

According to Sport Bild’s Christian Falk, Liverpool are one of the teams that have Bayern Munich’s Michael Olise on their radar. The Frenchman completed the move from Crystal Palace to Munich last summer with the German giants beating off interest from Newcastle United.

Last season the 23-year-old made a positive impact with his new team, scoring 20 goals and providing 23 assists in 55 appearances in all competitions. He has continued where he left off this season too, scoring a brace in the Bundesliga opener last weekend as Bayern came out as 6-0 winners against RB Leipzig.

It is claimed in the report that ‘bigger clubs’ in the Premier League are keen on signing him, with Liverpool and Manchester City named as showing an interest. They are, however, likely to come up against a strong stance from Bayern with the player not having a release clause in his contract.

The links come amid reports that there is a growing confidence that Liverpool could complete a £130m record deal for Isak before the end of the window. The Sweden international has been pushing for a move to Anfield, with the club seeing a £110 million offer turned down earlier in the window.

Isak has proven he can score goals in the Premier League, but like any striker, he will need the right service to get the best out of him. That job will be tasked to Mohamed Salah, Cody Gakpo and Florian Wirtz among other in the Liverpool squad if a transfer is completed.

Liverpool are one of the teams to be linked with a transfer interest in Bayern Munich's Michael Olise.

But the more creative players that Arne Slot can get in his team, the better it will be for the strikers. Olise’s numbers have shown that he is able to both score and assist - and his arrival would only be good news for Isak should he complete his own move to Anfield as well.

The fact that Newcastle also made a move for the winger last summer shows that they believed that he would be a good foil for Isak. While the Magpies would have hoped the partnership would have flourished at St James’ Park, it could be one that instead makes a big impact at Anfield in the future.
