The Micah Parsons trade from Dallas to Green Bay has shaken the NFL world since it happened on Thursday night. Packers fans are ecstatic, and Cowboys fans are taking shots at the franchise.
Chances are, though, nobody is happier than one of Parsons’ former Penn State teammates who is now reunited with the superstar: Packers tackle Rasheed Walker.
Not only will Walker no longer have to block Parsons whenever the Packers play the Cowboys, he also thinks the trade makes Green Bay the team to beat in 2025.
Walker took to social media shortly after the trade to say, “It’s over with lol.”
He doubled down on that with a bold prediction Friday morning:
“Sheedo says Packers winning the Super Bowl this year. What Sheedo say go.”
The Packers will have to get through NFC contenders like the Philadelphia Eagles and their own division rivals the Detroit Lions to make Walker’s claims true. Green Bay fell to the eventual champion Eagles in the first round of the playoffs last year.
Walker took over as Green Bay’s starting left tackle in 2023 after he was taken in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
From Waldorf, Maryland, he joined Penn State with Harrisburg native Parsons in the same 2018 recruiting class. After winning the 2019 Cotton Bowl together, Parsons opted out of the 2020 season en route to his first-round selection. Walker hung around for two more All-Big Ten seasons before leaving Happy Valley.
