'I did see it': Eddie Howe shares his reaction to Toni Kroos' Newcastle United admission this…

Newcastle United gained a new fan this week in the form of Real Madrid legend Toni Kroos.

The World Cup winner was seriously impressed with Newcastle United against Liverpool, despite Eddie Howe’s side ultimately losing 3-2 courtesy of a sickening 100th minute goal.

Kroos admitted on his podcast that he wants a Newcastle United membership, as well as a black and white shirt with ‘Dan Burn 33’ on the back.

“I was 1000% taken aback by what they did yesterday,” he said.

“I know Newcastle obviously has a lot of tradition, but that they’re also a club that’s somehow in Saudi Arabian hands. I don’t care about any of that.

“Yesterday was purely about the mentality. I have to say, sad is a big word, but I was disappointed for Newcastle that the goal (from Liverpool) was scored in the end.”

Following his Toon admission, Kroos has commented on Newcastle buying Nick Woltemade, suggesting that it is surely no coincidence that another German player is heading to Tyneside.

Kroos’ comments have been great to see, and they certainly caught Eddie Howe’s attention.
