The Green Bay Packers pulled off a massive blockbuster trade for Dallas Cowboys pass rusher Micah Parsons on Thursday. The Packers sent 2026 and 2027 first-round draft picks, along with defensive tackle Kenny Clark, to the Cowboys in exchange for Parsons.
The Packers also agreed to a four-year, $188 million contract with Parsons, making him the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history.
The Parsons blockbuster trade sent the entire sports world into a frenzy, coming just one week before the NFL's opening night.
On Friday, the fallout continued, and former Packers linebacker AJ Hawk admitted he is happy with the deal.
"I'm very happy as a Green Bay Packer alum and a fan of the team, I love it," Hawk said during an episode of The Pat McAfee Show. "I think it was a great move."
Hawk said those first-round picks the Packers sent to the Cowboys could be in the late 20s, depending on how the Packers do in the next couple of seasons.

"I am very happy for the Green Bay Packers," Hawk added. "I think Micah is going to fit in beautifully. Can you imagine the first time he runs out of the tunnel when they are doing introductions with the defense?"
Parsons has made the Pro Bowl in every season he has been in the league, and the Packers now lock him up for the next four years as they add a superstar to their defense.
Hawk spent the first nine years of his NFL career with the Packers after playing college football at Ohio State. Hawk was also part of the Super Bowl XLV win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Parsons' first game with the Packers will be at Lambeau Field on September 7 against the Detroit Lions in an NFC North battle, and one can only imagine how excited the Green Bay fans will be.
