Juventus are working on a deal to sign Arsenal midfielder Lia Walti, according to reports from Mauro Munno and Arseblog.
The Swiss international, aged 32, has been part of Arsenal since her move from Turbine Potsdam in 2018. Over the years, she has become a reliable figure in midfield and a respected leader within the squad.
Walti’s impact was immediate in her debut campaign. She played a key role in Arsenal’s Women’s Super League triumph in 2018/19.
Her excellent form saw her named in the PFA Team of the Season, confirming her influence in the heart of midfield.
Her progress was halted the following year when she suffered a damaging lateral collateral ligament injury.
The setback kept her away from the pitch for nine months in 2019, but she fought back to re-establish herself in the team.
Reports claim Juventus have held discreet talks with Walti for the past three weeks. The Italian giants are confident of striking a deal before the Serie A Femminile window closes on 10 September.
Sources add that Walti has already approved the move and holds strong belief in Juventus’ long-term project.
Walti could leave Arsenal this season
The midfielder recently underwent surgery to treat an abscess on 4 August and is currently on the sidelines.
While she recovers, her situation at Arsenal has been further complicated by competition for places in midfield.
Spanish star Mariona Caldentey has been moved into a central role this season and has delivered impressive performances.
Her form was recognised when she won the PFA Player of the Year award, a success that may further reduce Walti’s chances of consistent playing time.
During her time with Arsenal, Walti has collected several honours, including the Women’s Super League title, a Champions League crown, and two Continental Cups.
Despite her contributions, the lure of a fresh challenge in Italy could now prove decisive.
According to reports from German outlet Soccerdonna, the Swiss captain carries a valuation of around €250,000.
Juventus are believed to be ready to meet those demands as they aim to secure her signature in the coming days.
After six years in north London, Walti may now be set for a new chapter in Turin, with Juventus determined to add her experience and leadership to their midfield.
