Arsenal winger Ismeal Kabia is set to continue his development away from the Emirates, joining League Two side Shrewsbury Town on a season-long loan, according to journalistRyan Taylor.

The 19-year-old Dutch-born prospect has impressed at youth level this season, registering a goal and an assist for Arsenal’s U21s in the Premier League 2. Now, he will have the chance to gain valuable senior football experience in England’s fourth tier.

Kabia, renowned for his blistering pace and ability to operate on either flank, has been a standout performer in Arsenal’s academy. He made his senior debut for the Gunners last season in a 5-1 EFL Cup win over Bolton Wanderers and has been included in several matchday squads, with four appearances in the Champions League and nine in the Premier League. The loan move is viewed as a strategic step to accelerate his transition into first-team football.

Shrewsbury, who are looking to sharpen their attack after scoring just 35 goals in League One last season, see Kabia as an ideal addition.

The move comes shortly after Kabia signed a new contract with Arsenal earlier this month, reaffirming the club’s long-term faith in his potential. Speaking to Arsenal.com, Kabia highlighted his ambition to continue developing through regular game time: “My main goal is to get more goals and assists. Playing at the highest level possible, whether that’s PL2 or out on loan, is key to showing my ability.”

For Arsenal, the deal fits into their wider strategy of giving academy players senior exposure. Kabia follows fellow youngster Maldini Kacurri in securing a loan move this window, as the Gunners continue to nurture their next generation of talent.

A youth scout at the club described Kabia as “the quickest wide player” they had seen in years, underlining the winger’s raw attributes. While his end product still requires polishing, a season in League Two could provide the perfect platform to sharpen his decision-making and consistency.
