Manchester United have had a productive transfer window with four signings thus far.
The club have primarily focused on reinforcing the attacking department for the manager.
Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, Benjamin Sesko and Diego Leon have been signed, and there could be more activity before Monday’s transfer deadline.
Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri has now revealed that Royal Antwerp are ‘very confident’ of selling goalkeeper Senne Lammens to the Red Devils.
Talks are ‘accelerating’ between the clubs. Negotiations are at the ‘final stages’ over a €25 million deal. Lammens has already agreed on a five-year contract.
Lammens would be a top-class acquisition
The 23-year-old had a wonderful breakout campaign with Antwerp last season.
He was exceptional in goal with an average of 4.2 saves per game over 40 league appearances.
The shot-stopper had a save success rate of 77 percent, which is hugely impressive.
Lammens had an xGOT (goals prevented) of 15.57 and made some phenomenal saves.
Alongside his strong reflexes, he completed 71 percent of his passes with seven long balls per outing.
Lammens likewise impressed from the penalty spot, saving four out of eight spot kicks.
He is an allround package and has plenty of room for development at his current age.
The €25m fee would represent a bargain deal if he can live up to his high potential.
Alongside Lammens, United must pursue a new defensive midfielder before the deadline.
Casemiro is no longer in his prime while Manuel Ugarte has looked out of sorts this campaign.
Sevilla star Lucien Agoume would be a fantastic signing before Monday’s transfer deadline.
