Manchester United could end up doing Manchester City a big favour in the transfer market over the next few days.
As things stand, Manchester City are by far the better team in the city, with Manchester United suffering a new low this week at the hands of Grimsby Town.
To add insult to injury, Man City’s Under-21s managed to do what Man United couldn’t in beating a League Two side – Oldham Athletic – a day earlier.
Now, as the Red Devils scramble around to improve their squad before the deadline, they could actually wind up helping City out.

Manchester United pushing for Galatasaray target Senne Lammens
Fabrizio Romano has reported that Man United are preparing a “final big push” to seal a deal for Royal Antwerp goalkeeper Senne Lammens.
More Man City News
The Red Devils haven’t been faring very well on the goalkeeper front in recent years, with Andre Onana once again flattering to deceive.
This will be of interest to the Citizens because Galatasaray have been looking at both Lammens and Ederson, who City are looking to sell.
If Man United manage to get their hands on Lammens, Galatasaray would surely go all in on Ederson.
And once Ederson leaves, the path would be cleared for City to sign Gianluigi Donnarumma from Paris Saint-Germain.

Other Manchester City transfer business ahead of deadline
GRV Media chief correspondent Graeme Bailey recently told Manchester City News that the goalkeeper situation is Man City’s priority at present.
However, some more outgoings could be on the cards, with Manuel Akanji and Issa Kabore potentially in line to leave the Etihad Stadium.
Ilkay Gundogan and Savinho are likely to stay, while Akanji is still mulling over his future, added Bailey.
