Double Dutch: Xavi and Micky called up by the Netherlands

Micky van de Ven and his new club team-mate Xavi Simons have today (Friday 29 August) have been called up by the Netherlands national team.

Regulars for their nation, the dup have been selected for the Oranje ahead of two FIFA 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

First up for Ronald Koeman's side is a home clash with Poland on Thursday 4 September (7.45pm UK) before they head to Lithuania on Sunday 7 September (5pm UK).

They currently sit second in their group as they trail leaders Finland by a point, albeit they have played two less games than the Fins and hold a 100-per-cent record.

Micky currently has 11 caps to his name while Xavi has 28.
