Nottingham Forest are closing in on the goalkeeper Nuno Espirito Santo has openly wanted for most of the summer transfer window.
That’s according to Sky Sports who claim Botafogo’s John Victor is this evening having a medical with the Reds.
They claim ‘the Brazilian is set to sign after the clubs agreed a deal earlier on Friday’. This weekend’s opponents West Ham United were also keen on the 29-year-old but appear to have missed out.
Forest have already added Angus Gunn to their ‘keeper ranks this summer, as back-up for No.1 Matz Sels.
They have been linked with David Soria at Getafe and Fenerbahce’s Dominik Livakovic – but they have once again alighted upon Botofago.
The former Brazil youth international came through at Santos before moving to the Rio de Janeiro based club in 2024. Since then he has played in the Club World Cup, Copa Libertadores and the Brazilian top flight.
Forest have already signed Igor Jesus and Jair Cunha from Botafogo.
