NFL Coach Arrested on Domestic Violence Charges

Ryan Crow, the outside linebackers coach for the Miami Dolphins, was arrested on Friday in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on a domestic battery charge. The 37-year-old assistant coach is currently being held at the Broward County Main Jail, according to arrest records.

Crow joined Miami's NFL team in 2024 after working for six seasons with the Tennessee Titans. He has been placed on administrative leave following his arrest. "We are aware of the serious matter involving Ryan Crow and currently gathering more information," the Dolphins said in a statement Friday, "We have been in communication with the NFL and will reserve further comment at this time."

Several calls to Fort Lauderdale police came in shortly after midnight on August 29 reporting a domestic disturbance that involved Crow and an unnamed woman. Several witnesses reported to police that the two were into a verbal altercation that soon turned physical. TMZ Sports reports that Crow "had his arms around the woman" but left the scene to go to his apartment when he realized that people were watching the altercation.

The incident took place around the 200 block of South Federal Highway in Fort Lauderdale. Police indicated that the dispute was sparked from Crow and the woman, who he was allegedly dating, discussing prior relationships. The two apparently also live together.

Crow's inmate information shows that he is being charged with one count of battery/touch or strike and is currently being held without bond as he awaits trial. The Dolphins begin their regular season on Sunday, September 7, making it unlikely that Crow will start the season with the team.
