EuroBasket 2025 Saturday preview: France plays Slovenia and Serbia plays Latvia

Good evening folks. Eurobasket 2025 group play is underway. France has two Washington Wizards players and they play in Group D. Serbia has Wizards center Tristan Vukcevic and they play in Group A. They BOTH play at about 11 a.m. ET tomorrow and you can see it on Courtside 1891. But they won’t be in the same place. Here’s a very bare bones preview.

* Where: Katowice, Poland

* Rankings: France is No. 4, Slovenia is No. 11

* What to expect: Los Angeles Lakers guard Luka Doncic will represent the Slovenes, but the French have more depth. This should be a very exciting match to see.

* Where: Riga, Latvia

* Rankings: Serbia is No. 2, Latvia is No. 9

* What to expect: The Latvians squeaked by Estonia earlier today with a 72-70 win. Former Washington Wizards center Kristaps Porzingis scored 26 points in the game. In addition, former Wizards forward Davis Bertans grabbed 11 rebounds. Serbia should be the favorite on a neutral court, but this is at KP’s and Bertans’ house. If the Serbians lose a game in the group stage, this game would be it.
