Largie Ramazani makes instant impact in 11-min Valencia debut after Leeds United exit

Leeds United winger Largie Ramazani confirmed a move to Valencia this week on loan and has been looking to prove why he deserved better chances at Elland Road.

Leeds have their work cut out to get a result against Newcastle United tomorrow while also pushing hard behind the scenes to secure the necessary attacking signing(s).

Not helping the club’s pressure to find the right signings was the decision to loan out Largie Ramazani, an unpopular move given the Belgian’s unquestionable talent despite limited opportunities.

Largie Ramazani gets an assist in his Valencia debut off the bench – proving what Leeds United may be missing

Ramazani was allowed to leave on loan to Valencia this week with former Leeds coach Carlos Corberan getting his hands on the winger.

After being left out of Leeds’ last two squads, Ramazani was undoubtedly hungry to prove to his credentials in a new environment.

Named on the bench tonight against Getafe at the Mestalla, Ramazani got off the bench for his debut in the 87th minute with his side 2-0 up.

What followed was the icing on the cake provided by Ramazani, showing his blistering pace in behind when the ball was turned over, racing clear and rolling a cross into the path of Hugo Duro in the 97th minute for 3-0:

Ramazani had five touches of the ball in his 11 minutes on the pitch, completing four out of four passes, and registering this assist.

Real chance of Daniel Farke having egg on his face after Largie Ramazani treatment at Leeds United

We can’t speculate what happens in training sessions so Farke may have a point about Ramazani’s intensity without the ball, but to flat-out ignore everything he brings on the ball is huge mismanagement.

Had Ramazani been trusted more last season, we could have been looking at a potential starter in the Premier League this season, but instead he’s going to be Corberan’s talent to nurture, and what a coach to play under right now.

This assist doesn’t mean absolutely that Ramazani will have a good season and prove Farke badly wrong, but it’s all the more proof that Leeds have effectively wasted a year of a superb attacking talent and not progressed what looks to be an exciting career.
