Insider reveals the five players Leeds United are targeting after Buonanotte deal collapses

Leeds United have almost completed a full revamp of their attack ahead of the transfer deadline. Almost every player who was competing for the starting spot up top is away from the club.

Mateo Joseph was sent away on loan when he asked for a transfer after considering his playing time last season. Patrick Bamford has officially parted ways with Leeds United after seven years at the club. Daniel Farke told him in pre-season that he was not part of the team’s plans after a poor fitness record in the past few seasons.

With the window set to close soon, Farke has hinted that the club could bring in one or two new faces to the team:

”We have allowed Largie and Isaac to travel for talks with other clubs. Not confirmed yet but we expect this will happen. Min focus is to strengthen offence, how realistic, it makes no sense to give you a percentage but we’re looking forward to strengthen offence a bit more. If it’s one or two more we will see, whatever is possible. We want the best possible squad and everyone is working hard.”

Leeds suffered some shock news early on Friday when it was revealed that Chelsea had swooped in to sign Facundo Buonanotte on loan. The Whites thought they had a deal in the bag, and booked a flight for the Argentine, who cancelled at the last minute. Now the club need to look at alternatives.

According to The Athletic, the names listed include Bilal El Khannouss, Dilane Bakwa, Eduard Spertsyan and Manor Solomon. A move for Gustavo Hamer cannot be ruled out after Sheffield United made some big new signings to replace him in the team.

The transfer deadline closes on Monday night. Before that, Leeds face Newcastle at Elland Road on Saturday.
