Tottenham boss Thomas Frank has ruled out Yves Bissouma for the Premier League fixture against Bournemouth on Saturday
On Saturday, Tottenham Hotspur will host Bournemouth at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, looking to continue their flawless start to the Premier League season.
This match will be a chance for the north Londoners to enter the new season’s first international break with maximum points. Very few may have expected Thomas Frank to make such a strong impact at the club, with the Danish tactician proving that flexibility and pragmatism are extremely vital in the Premier League.
Spurs are one of three teams, along with Arsenal and Liverpool, that have earned maximum points from the opening two games. They swept away newly-promoted club Burnley on the opening weekend of the season, before beating Manchester City 2-0 at the Etihad Stadium last weekend. It was a Thomas Frank tactical masterclass that saw Spurs stun Man City, with Brennan Johnson and Joao Palhinha scoring in the big away win.
Up next for Tottenham is a home game against Bournemouth, and Thomas Frank was asked to give an update on how his team is shaping up. The Spurs gaffer was also asked specifically about Yves Bissouma in his press conference.

Frank gives an update on Yves Bissouma ahead of Bournemouth game
Frank decided to exclude Yves Bissouma from the Tottenham squad to face Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Super Cup owing to persistent lateness. The midfielder has subsequently missed wins over Burnley and Man City amid exit links.
The Mali international has never really lived up to the expectations across three seasons in north London. Having entered the final year of his deal, Spurs want to cash him in this summer and are on the hunt for a buyer. When asked to give an update on Bissouma in the pre-match press conference on Friday, Frank said (h/t Football London):
“I think with Bissouma, one thing for sure, he’s out for the next game and then the specific timeline I’m a little bit in doubt of because I don’t think it’ll be that long.”

Tottenham are in negotiations with Galatasaray over Yves Bissouma
Frank does not favour Bissouma amid Galatasaray links
Apart from being dropped from the squad against PSG due to indiscipline, it looks like Bissouma is not fully fit to feature in games. The reason for his unavailability against Burnley and Man City appear far more than being indiscipline, and the Mali national team coach Tom Saintfiet leaving him out for World Cup qualifiers against Comoros and Ghana prove that.
Also, the 28-year-old’s future at Tottenham remains up in the air. Out of favour under Frank, Bissouma intends to leave the club and has agreed personal terms with Galatasaray. The combative African wants to continue the next stage of his career in Turkey but nothing is finalised yet. For now, though, he will miss the home game against Bournemouth too.
