Manchester United will be eyeing a first victory of the campaign when they welcome Burnley to Old Trafford in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

The Reds, who are unbeaten in their last seven meetings with the Clarets, exited the Carabao Cup in shock circumstances in midweek, losing 12-11 on penalties to League Two side Grimsby Town after a 2-2 stalemate.

As a result, United have failed to win any of their opening three games in league and cup this season and pressure is quickly mounting on head coach Ruben Amorim, who has overseen just five Premier League victories this calendar year.

After leaving Andre Onana out of his starting line-ups for the opening two Premier League games of the season, Amorim recalled the Cameroonian against Grimsby, but his performance saw him drop a clanger for the Mariners' second goal after he had failed to cover himself in glory for their first, meaning Altay Bayindir could return at his expense.

Both Leny Yoro and Luke Shaw were left out of the squad that travelled to the Lincolnshire coast, meaning they should return and reclaim their places in the starting line-up.

Harry Maguire, who scored a late equaliser in midweek, will hope to stay in the middle of the back-three after replacing Matthijs de Ligt, but the Dutchman will want his place back after starting on the bench.

Amad and Patrick Dorgu were two of only three players that kept their places in the starting line-up against Grimsby from the 1-1 draw with Fulham three days earlier, and they are likely to retain their places again and occupy the two wing-back positions.

Amad, just like the rest of his teammates, was nowhere near his best in midweek and Dorgu is continuing to start at left wing-back by default.

United's midfield is already proving to be a problem this season, meaning Amorim has a big call to make in the engine room. However, Bruno Fernandes is a guaranteed starter amid his status as captain.

Casemiro has started the opening two league games of the season next to Fernandes, meaning it would be no surprise to see him recalled after remaining on the bench against Grimsby. However, Kobbie Mainoo will be determined to keep his place.

Bryan Mbeumo, who came off the bench to score his first United goal in midweek, and Matheus Cunha should occupy the two No.10 spots. Benjamin Sesko will fancy his chances of making his first Premier League start after playing the full 90 minutes in midweek.
