Manchester City star Erling Haaland has named the teammate he thinks is most likely to score when it matters most.
Manchester City have a star-studded squad that has dominated the English game for most of the past 13 or so years.
And with elite level operating on such fine margins, one goal can make all the difference when it comes to winning one-off games and championships alike.
While Haaland is one of City’s most reliable players when it comes to finding the back of the net, he says there’s another man who’s just right for the job.

The Man City goal machine only had one man in mind – Ballon d’Or winner Rodri.
“We have a Ballon d’Or winner that’s been scoring quite a few important goals, so Rodri is the most likely to score when it matters most,” said Haaland.
Newcastle United star Bruno Guimaraes has also praised Rodri, while Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard suggested Rodri is better than Florian Wirtz.

Rodri’s most important goals
Rodri has a pretty solid goal and assist record for a defensive midfielder, and he certainly picks the best time to get on the scoresheet.
Obviously there’s one Rodri goal that stands out above all – his 68th-minute winner against Inter Milan in the 2022/23 Champions League final.
However, the £63million man has delivered numerous clutch moments for Man City over the years.
These include the winner against Aston Villa in the 2019/20 Carabao Cup final and key goals against Arsenal, Watford and Villa in the second half of the 2021/22 league campaign to help the Citizens win the title.
Other key goals have come against Bayern Munich in the 2022/23 Champions League campaign and against Sheffield United in the 2023/24 Premier League season.
Rodri certainly has a knack for important goals and hopefully he can deliver some more magical moments in 2025/26.
