Everton have been linked with a move for Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo this summer.
David Moyes wants to bring in more fresh faces to the Hill Dickinson Stadium before the transfer window closes on 1 September.
Everton are eyeing reinforcements in midfield as Abdoulaye Doucoure left and James Garner has been playing at full-back in the first few games of the new season.

Alan Myers addresses the Kobbie Mainoo links
Even though Everton signed Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from Chelsea, they continue to be linked with more midfielders.
Mainoo has not been extensively linked, but his name has been mentioned, and former Sky Sports news editor Alan Myers was asked about him potentially moving to Merseyside.
MORE TOFFEES STORIES
Myers claimed on 29 August that he was sure the Toffees would have looked at the 20-year-old midfielder in this window.
Competition Appearances Direct Goal Involvements Minutes Played
Premier League 29 0 1,666′
Europa League 8 3 175′
Domestic Cups 3 0 179′
Mainoo played a decent number of games last season.
He also admitted that it looks like something will happen with regards to the England international moving before the deadline, but it may not be to join Everton.
Via X, he wrote: “I’m sure we’d have looked at it. I think that one looks as if something may happen. Not necessarily with us but somewhere so who knows.”

Kobbie Mainoo would add balance to the Everton midfield
Mainoo would be an exceptional signing for Everton, injecting youthful dynamism and technical prowess into Moyes’ midfield while addressing the Toffees’ persistent struggles with creativity and depth amid their relegation skirmishes.
The 20-year-old Manchester United academy graduate, sidelined under Ruben Amorim’s 3-4-3 system and open to a move after zero Premier League minutes this season, excels in ball-carrying, composure under pressure and progressive passing.
These are undoubtedly qualities that could add balance to the Toffees’ side and make them more formidable in possession.
His England international experience, including Euro 2024 starts, promises maturity beyond his years, complementing Moyes’ pragmatic yet forward-thinking style honed during his triumphant West Ham spell.
Paired with Dewsbury-Hall, who brings box-to-box energy, goal threat and versatility as a No. 8, and the tenacious Idrissa Gueye, an exceptional ball-winner, the trio would forge an ideal balance.
Gueye’s defensive steel anchors the pivot, Dewsbury-Hall drives transitions with his stamina and vision, and Mainoo adds flair and control, enabling Moyes to rotate effectively in a gruelling campaign, secure survival and build for the Hill Dickinson Stadium era.
This midfield harmony could transform Everton from survivalists to mid-table contenders, fulfilling the Friedkin Group’s ambitions.
