As Wolves gear up to face Everton, an update on exit-linked Jorgen Strand Larsen has emerged.
Newcastle aren’t backing down on Jorgen Strand Larsen, still wanting to sign the Norwegian despite reaching a deal for Nick Woltemade.
Wolves maintain the position of ‘no sale’, but news from inside the team hotel doesn’t give much in the way of encouragement.
Jorgen Strand Larsen absent from squad amid Newcastle links
Vitor Pereira mentioned a knock Strand Larsen had after the weekend’s Bournemouth game. He didn’t see it as a serious concern, and when he came on and scored a brace against West Ham, it seemed as though all was well.
But his absence from the team hotel could mean a couple of things.
Jorgen Strand Larsen is not at the Wolves team hotel this evening and is expected to miss the game against Everton tomorrow.

The position of the optimist would be that he is missing this game due to this ongoing Achilles issue.

The glass-half-empty stance is that Newcastle are edging closer to his signature, and the risk isn’t worth it for both parties.
Strand Larsen’s desire to join Newcastle is clear at this stage, but whether it will force a decision change from the club remains to be seen.
Wolves will need to find their goals from elsewhere against Everton
Strand Larsen was the hero in Wolves’ first win of the season, scoring a two-minute brace shortly after taking the field.
If reports are to be believed, that won’t be an option in this game.
With Fabio Silva’s official departure, it leaves Pereira with few options to lead the line. It’s a choice between Hwang Hee-chan and Sasa Kalajdzic.

The Korean was favoured in midweek, but he may struggle against the size and physicality of the Everton defence. Kalajdzic’s future is up in the air, and Pereira hasn’t gone to him often in the past.
If Hwang does get the nod, it will be interesting to see how that changes the selections either side of him.
This is a vital game for Wolves to open their Premier League account for the season, and hopefully Strand Larsen’s absence isn’t too big a hurdle to get past.
