Back in that maiden PL season, the average cost of buying your team's full kit was around £25. These days, most shirts, let alone the shorts and socks, mean parting with more than £70. And yet, there have been some outfits that have severely tested supporter loyalty when it came to paying up.

9: Liverpool third team kit 2013/14: Like Iago Aspas, a short-lived experiment that lasted for one season only. A dishevelled design consisting of a white, black, and purple pattern, it's the third-worst memory for Liverpool fans from that campaign, behind the Steven Gerrard slip and 3-3 draw at Crystal Palace.
