A shocking update has emerged regarding the goalkeeper situation at Manchester City, which could have significant ramifications for the future of Ederson.
The future of the Brazilian goalkeeper has been up in the air all summer as Galatasaray continue to push for Ederson, but the Turkish giants have yet to agree a fee with City, with only a few days left in the transfer market.
James Trafford has started in goal for Man City’s first two games of the Premier League season, despite Pep Guardiola making it clear that the 32-year-old was his number one for the season.
A shocking update has now emerged in the transfer market, and it may not be good news for Ederson if he hopes to complete a move to Galatasaray over the coming days.

Galatasaray are working on an unusual Gianluigi Donnarumma deal
If Ederson is sold to Galatasaray before the summer transfer window shuts, Man City will move for Gianluigi Donnarumma to replace the Brazilian at the Etihad Stadium, with personal terms not expected to be an issue.
The Manchester club are currently working on the transfer of the PSG star, but a new twist has emerged as Galatasaray have entered the race, reports Rudy Galetti.

The journalist states that Galatasaray are working behind the scenes with PSG to sign Donnarumma; however, a “shocking formula” is being used as there will be no transfer fee, just a sell-on clause for a future sale.

This scenario makes very little sense, and it might be the approach the two clubs are taking to put pressure on Man City to sell Ederson, which will lead to the Manchester club signing Donnarumma.
Al-Nassr have also been interested in Ederson, but Fabrizio Romano says that it is a deal that will not happen, which only leaves Turkey as an option for the Brazilian star.
Man City’s goalkeeper situation will become clearer on Sunday
Amid all the talk around his goalkeepers over the last week, Guardiola told the press on Friday that he will decide on who starts against Brighton sometime on Saturday.
Therefore, when the teams are announced on Sunday afternoon, an hour and 15 minutes before Man City take on the Seagulls at the Amex, the goalkeeper situation in Manchester will become clearer. If Ederson is on the bench, there is a strong chance he will leave before Monday’s deadline.
This is a situation City should have sorted out a long time ago, as it is doing nobody any favours to have uncertainty surrounding the goalkeeper position with three games into the Premier League season.
