Manchester United have reportedly decided whether to sell Andre Onana ahead of Monday's transfer deadline. The goalkeeper has been linked with an exit before the end of the window, having failed to impress during his two years at Old Trafford. He was arguably at fault for both goals against Grimsby Town and conceded 11 of 12 penalties as United were beaten in the shoot-out.
Onana remains tied down to the Red Devils until 2028 but his poor form has led to doubts surrounding his long-term future. United have been linked with several possible replacements, including the likes of Emi Martinez, Mike Maignan and Gianluigi Donnarumma. However, it seems they are ready to stick with Onana in spite of his dreadful displays between the sticks.
United chiefs have decided not to sell the Cameroon international in the final days of the window, according to The Sun. He has reportedly been assured that he will stay with the Red Devils for at least one more season.
Altay Bayindir is also likely to remain at United and compete with Onana for starts. He has been linked with a move to Galatasaray but is said to be keen on staying at Old Trafford and fighting for his place.
United were initially in talks with Royal Antwerp goalkeeper Senne Lammens but those negotiations are believed to have stalled. It remains to be seen if the proposed move will be revived before the window closes on Monday.
One deal that is progressing could see Rasmus Hojlund join Napoli on loan until the end of the campaign. A deal has been agreed with a conditional obligation to buy for around £38million next summer, according to The Athletic.
United will also receive a 'significant' loan fee, with the purchase clause kicking in if Napoli qualify for next season's Champions League.
The move is not totally done, though, with Hojlund yet to give the green light. The striker has expressed a desire to stay at United and that remains a possibility, but he has been left out of the last three matchday squads.
Kobbie Mainoo has also been linked with an exit, having informed United of his desire to leave the club on loan. However, it seems likely that he will stay after Ruben Amorim made his feelings clear in Friday's press conference.
"I want Kobbie to stay," said the United boss. "He needs to fight for his place and we need Kobbie, so that is not going to change. The rest [of the players possibly leaving], I don't know how it's going to finish.
"I understand that the players that are not playing in this moment are disappointed but everyone will have the same opportunity to play. You have to fight during the week."
