Bayern Munich have agreed to sign Nicolas Jackson on loan from Chelsea, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The one-season loan deal includes an initial €15 million loan fee and a non-mandatory €80m buy option.
Newcastle United and Aston Villa were among other clubs linked with a move for the forward, but Bayern appear to have won the race for his signature.
The Premier League has been a desired destination for the Senegalese since Villarreal agreed a £22.5m deal with AFC Bournemouth, but he failed his medical due to hamstring issues in the winter of 2023.
Six months later, the 24-year-old signed for Chelsea in the summer of 2023 on an eight-year deal through 2031 for a fee reported to be £32m.
Due to his impressive first season at the Bridge, Jackson was rewarded with a two-year contract extension with Chelsea, extending his contract until 2033.
However, the Senegalese forward has faced increased competition at Chelsea following the arrivals of João Pedro from Brighton & Hove Albion and Liam Delap from Ipswich Town earlier this summer.
That competition has prompted both Jackson and his teammate Christopher Nkunku to seek exits, with Nkunku closing in on a switch to Serie A side AC Milan.
Jackson has recorded 30 goals and 12 assists in 81 appearances for the Blues in his two-season stay in London.
He was instrumental for Chelsea last season, netting 13 goals and providing six assists in all competitions. One of his goals came in Chelsea’s 4-1 victory over Real Betis in the Conference League Final.
Bayern, meanwhile, are continuing to reshape their attack after the departure of Kingsley Coman, Leroy Sané, and Mathys Tel to Al Nassr, Galatasaray, and Tottenham Hotspur, respectively.
Jackson will be their second attacking signing of this summer after securing Luis Diaz’s signature from Liverpool.
