OF the major stories left to unfold before Monday night is David Moyes’ pursuit of West Ham’s midfielder [**Tomas Soucek**.](https://www.claretandhugh.info/and-its-all-gone-quiet-over-there-soucek-to-everton-stalling/)
The former West Ham boss is a confirmed admirer of the Czech captain and has already had one offer knocked back in his attempt to take one of his ‘_Czech Boys_‘ to Merseyside.
As our [article yesterday](https://www.claretandhugh.info/david-moyes-everton-line-up-second-raid-on-easy-pickings-west-ham/), Soucek divides opinion at West Ham between those who admire his goal scoring knack and point out that the Hammers would have been relegated last season – and those who think his days are over thanks to limited pace and mobility.
Claret and Hugh’s transfer source – close to Soucek’s camp but outside of the club – has given the strongest indication yet that Tomas Soucek _will remain_ at West Ham beyond the window closure on Monday night, claiming it is now “_90% certain_” that Tornado Tom will stay at London Stadium.
West Ham had demanded a £19 million transfer fee for his sale and it seems David Moyes’ side have baulked at paying that price for a 30 year old.
Soucek will still score goals and so the ‘pro’ Czech camp will be happy – whilst the ‘let him leave’ contingency will take another few goals from the player to quell their disquiet.
