‘Full agreement’ now reached for Brighton transfer – Deal accelerate last night, Seagulls to have resale

On Wednesday, Corriere dello Sport reported Fiorentina were progressing in a move for Brighton full-back Tariq Lamptey.

The Seagulls wanted €10m to sell the full-back but there was confidence that a deal could be done. Progress has now been made in the deal and Brighton are ready for the player’s sale.

Alfredo Pedulla reports talks took place last night which led to an agreement for the 24-year-old Ghana international.

Brighton will earn €6m plus bonuses from the full-back’s transfer, with him also agreeing terms. Lamptey will sign a four-year deal and there is a ‘full agreement’ over a transfer.

Calciomercato.it’s Raffaele Amato reports something similar and adds that Brighton will be entitled to a percentage from Lamptey’s future resale and can earn around €7m from the transfer.

This feels like a reasonable deal for the Seagulls as the Ghanaian’s current contract at the Amex runs out in the summer of 2026 and he’s not an important part of the side under Fabian Hurzeler.

The right-back played only 860 minutes in the Premier League last season and has been troubled by injuries in recent years.
