The latest Man Utd transfer news with just three days left of the summer transfer window.
Manchester United have reached an agreement with Napoli for the transfer of Rasmus Hojlund on an initial season-long loan, with a conditional obligation to make it permanent next summer.
It is understood United are guaranteed to receive an initial €6 million (£5.19m) loan fee for Hojlund, while an agreement is in place that will see Napoli sign the striker permanently for €44m (£38.07m) if they qualify for the Champions League. It means the total transfer package could be worth €50m (£43.26m).
United and Napoli have both agreed to the proposal, but the final decision will rest with Hojlund, who has been reluctant to leave the club this summer. The 22-year-old reiterated his preference was to stay and fight for his spot in the starting line up but he has been left out of all three matchday squads this season in a clear message that he is no longer wanted by Ruben Amorim.

United have already signed Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig to be their new striker this season, while Amorim has also given preference to using a false nine rather than Hojlund in matches when the summer signing hasn't been fit enough to start. United are focused on player sales before transfer deadline day, with the Denmark international one of their most attractive assets.
It is understood Atalanta, RB Leipzig and Newcastle also expressed an interest in Hojlund, though it is Napoli who are set to sign him after Romelu Lukaku suffered a thigh injury in pre-season. Hojlund will reunite with former teammate Scott McTominay and Man City legend Kevin de Bruyne in Naples, and will return to Manchester to face City in the Champions League this season.
Although he has yet to officially accept the deal, notorious transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano claims an agreement has been reached in principle and he will be able to utter his famous 'here we go' catchphrase soon.
"The agreement between Man United and Napoli for Rasmus Højlund is done since Tuesday: €6m loan, €44m buy option clause to become mandatory," he posted on social media. "Højlund has already accepted, agent fees agreed, he wants Napoli. No chance to stay at United. Small details… then, here we go."
Hojlund has scored 26 goals and registered six assists in 95 appearances since he joined United from Atalanta two years ago. He only managed 10 goals across all competitions last season, with just four of those in the Premier League.
