Report: Everton keeping tabs on stunning move to beat Spurs to Brazilian, 'talks are ongoing'…

Everton will be hoping to add some further quality to their squad before the window shuts next week.

Finding the back of the net on a consistent basis has been a real issue for Everton over recent years.

A lot of hard work has gone in at Finch Farm to solve their issues ahead of this season, with Everton signing Thierno Barry from Villarreal.

Thierry Henry praised Barry on his first Everton start at the weekend against Brighton and Hove Albion.

But the Blues have also added some real quality behind the striker, after landing the likes of Jack Grealish on loan for the season.

Everton are looking to sign another midfielder, with a defensive addition also believed to be on Angus Kinnear’s radar.

There could also be some departures before Monday, and one deal is believed to be all set to go.

Everton plotting stunning move for West Ham’s Lucas Paqueta

Earlier this week, Tyler Dibling signed for Everton in a deal worth an initial £35m from Southampton.

After completing the move, Dibling’s father admitted Tottenham Hotspur were interested in securing his services.

According to Globo Esporte, Everton could look to upset Spurs again as they are monitoring a potential move for West Ham United’s Lucas Paqueta.

Moyes is believed to be a huge fan of Paqueta, but the Toffees face some stern competition if they are to land a stunning late move.

Aston Villa are believed to be leading the way for the Brazilian’s signature, who West Ham value in the region of £50m.

A deal is labelled as ‘unlikely’ despite talks taking place behind-the-scenes.

Everton are ready to loan Harrison Armstrong out to a Championship club again, but they are awaiting a replacement to land before sanctioning the move.

Adding an established player of Paqueta’s quality would provide yet another huge statement of intent by the Friedkins.

Expectations on a deal of this magnitude will have to be restrained at this stage of the window.

Everton signing Paqueta would shock the Premier League

Clearly, this is a deal which is highly unlikely to get over the line after such a busy summer for the Toffees.

Moyes has been pleased with Everton’s transfer business, but this would be a move that would send shockwaves across the Premier League.

Everton beat Tottenham to Grealish’s signature, and no one would expect them to sign Paqueta.

Questions may be asked as to whether money could be spent better elsewhere before Monday’s deadline.

But the Brazil international showed last weekend against Chelsea just how much star quality he could provide any interested side.
