Aston Villa are considering hijacking Manchester United’s move to sign Royal Antwerp goalkeeper Senne Lammens, Sky Sports journalist Mike McGrath has revealed.
The Belgian shot-stopper has reportedly emerged as a late option for Unai Emery’s side if they decide to pursue a new goalkeeper in the final days of the summer transfer window.
Lammens is also being targeted by Turkish champions Galatasaray, who are believed to have submitted a bid for the 23-year-old goalkeeper.
The Antwerp shot-stopper is a long-term target for Man United, who are looking to bring in the Belgian to compete with Andre Onana for playing time this season.

According to McGrath, the next two days are ‘crucial’ for Lammens’ future, with Manchester United, Galatasaray and Aston Villa all interested in signing the 23-year-old:
Man United are believed to be preparing to step up their pursuit of Lammens in the coming days, with GIVEMESPORT senior correspondent Fabrizio Romano revealing that talks are set to accelerate this weekend with Royal Antwerp.
Lammens is set to compete for a spot in Ruben Amorim’s first XI alongside Onana if he joins, with the Cameroonian’s departure unlikely before Monday’s transfer deadline.
Onana was dropped for United’s first two Premier League games in favour of Altay Bayindir, before returning in goal for their defeat to Grimsby Town on penalties in the EFL Cup second round on Wednesday.
This is a developing story, more to follow.
