Live on TV: David Ornstein has just shared significant Amorim future update before Man Utd vs…

Manchester United "do not want to sack" Ruben Amorim, despite the manager's struggles for form with the Red Devils, according to David Ornstein.

The Portuguese has been under a particularly high amount of pressure after Man United's stunning exit from the Carabao Cup, losing to League Two side Grimsby Town on penalties having been two goals down in regular time.

Amorim has struggled for consistency since arriving at Old Trafford in November 2024, though many of his troubles last season were forgiven, or at least tolerated, given the team that he inherited. Now, though, despite having a pre-season and a summer of signings that has included the big-money additions of Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, it appears that Amorim's problems remain.

In the two Premier League games this season that Man United have played, at the time of writing, they have acquired just one point from six, losing to Arsenal before drawing with Fulham. As such, rumours about Amorim's future have emerged, though David Ornstein has now provided a major update on the future of the Portuguese.

This is a developing story, more to follow.
