Nottingham Forest have a few days remaining to put the finishing touches to Nuno Espirito Santo's squad before the summer transfer window closes.
The Reds still have a few gaps to fill, with further ins and outs on the cards before the window closes. Clubs have until 7pm on Monday to get their business done.
This window has been a bit of a slow-burner at the City Ground. Indeed, prior to his team's opening-day win over Brentford, head coach Nuno admitted to being concerned about the make-up of his squad. His preference was for the Reds to make singings early on, to give players the opportunity to forge relationships.
He said at the time: "The plans that we had didn't come through. The preparation in terms of squad was not ideal. We didn't have a chance to create the bond - and this is what I think is more important.
"Because we don't know which squad we have. We have players working here that know they're going to leave on loan. We have a major problem."
Following the Portuguese's out-spoken comments, Forest welcomed a flurry of additions. Omari Hutchinson, James McAtee and Douglas Luiz arrived to take their tally of recruits to eight.
It might well be that patience ultimately pays off for the Reds. Although they still have some deals left to do, they have already overseen some excellent business and have the basis of a strong squad in place as they aim to push on again this term.
Strength in depth will be key given Nuno will have the demands of European football to contend with this time around. The Portuguese will need to have sufficient options across the pitch to cope with the additional games.
