Chelsea are ready to give Christopher Nkunku his marching orders, with the forward nearing a move to Serie A giants, AC Milan. The player is not central to plans under gaffer Enzo Maresca.
Nkunku’s time at Stamford Bridge has come to an end, with Chelsea agreeing to a transfer to AC Milan. Bayern Munich were also keen on the Frenchman, but only wanted him as a temporary arrangement for this season.
According to reliable sources at Goal.com, Nkunku will now be embarking on a new chapter in his career after a torrid time in London. After joining the club in 2023 from RB Leipzig, the player amassed 62 appearances for the Blues across all competitions.
The forward was close to joining city rivals Inter Milan but the deal fell through. Nkunku was also reportedly offered to Manchester United but they ultimately signed Benjamin Sesko after being turned off by the forward’s injury record while at Stamford Bridge.
Nkunku’s transfer details
The two teams have agreed for a transfer fee of £30 million upfront and could rise to potentially £35 million along with bonuses. The French international and former Leipzig man will be signing a 5 year deal at the San Siro stadium.
Transfer pundit, Fabrizio Romano, has mentioned that personal terms have been agreed with the player, implying that an official announcement could soon be on the cards from the Milan based team.
As a part of the agreement between Chelsea and AC Milan, the Blues are to receive a percentage of the future proceeds from the sale of Christopher Nkunku.

Torrid times at Chelsea for the Frenchman
The new chapter will allow Christopher Nkunku to get back his career on the right path. Having spent most of his time at Chelsea on the sidelines, it could be an interesting opportunity for Nkunku to establish himself at AC Milan under the tutelage of Massimiliano Allegri.

The 27 year old forward struggled to fit into the plans of Enzo Maresca and also often struggled with fitness related concerns, restricting his game time to the bare minimum. Even for the current season, Enzo Maresca has been vocal of the fact that Nkunku is not a part of his plans. The player has even failed to make it to the squad for Chelsea’s opening two fixtures in the Premier League.
The two clubs are working on a tight deadline with the transfer window set to close on 1st September. Chelsea would be delighted over having finally completed the sale of Nkunku having entertained various offers for him throughout the summer. Chelsea are scheduled to play host to Fulham on matchday 3 of the English top flight.
