No one knows what’s next for Anfernee Simons, but he’s a member of the Boston Celtics right now.
He could move to another team, or could remain with the Celtics in the new season, and everything is currently up in the air with him.
One unnamed NBA executive believes that Simons could make a home for himself with the Celtics.
They predicted that Simons would actually lead Boston in scoring in 2025-26.
“I bet you he’s their leading scorer. Even with Jaylen. He’s going to have the ball a lot, and that dude can really score. That offense is going to have to change to accommodate him, and, on the last year of his contract, he’s going to let it fly. As the kids say, he’s a bucket. He is. That dude is a bucket. He can really fill it up. And remember, he was averaging around 20 in the West. What do you think he’s going to do in the Eastern Conference, which is a LOT less competitive? How’s he not going to score and score big?” an anonymous NBA executive said.

Simons just finished his seventh season in the league with the Portland Trail Blazers.
He was a crucial part of the team and averaged 19.3 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 4.8 assists in 2024-25.
Like the executive said, the Eastern Conference is less competitive than the West, so there is reason to believe he could do even better now that he’s switched coasts.
Simons could be terrific for Boston, but he may never get the chance to show off for them.
There are plenty of rumors of him being moved to another team before training camp.
At this point, it feels like there are even odds for him staying or going.
But wherever he goes, these points about him stand, and Simons might be about to start a terrific season.
