Jose Mourinho and Ange Postecoglou are not in the running to succeed West Ham boss Graham Potter, according to reports.
Claret & Hugh recently asked a “top transfer insider” whether either manager was in contention to replace the current head coach, who has overseen a poor start to the season, but the response was unequivocal:
“None. Neither Ange nor Jose are on their radar at the moment – no chance.”

Potter will be in the dugout when West Ham take on Nottingham at the City Ground on Sunday afternoon.
Mourinho and Postecoglou are both available
Fenerbahce sacked Mourinho after the Turkish side crashed out of the Champions League in the playoff round. The former Chelsea and Manchester United manager had only been in the job for the best part of 15 months.
Postecoglou has been out of work since the end of last season after leaving Tottenham. Despite Spurs’s Europa League triumph, the Australian lost his job because the North London club finished 17th in the Premier League table, five points below the Hammers.
West Ham have time to consider the manager’s future
The international break is on the horizon, so if the Irons do want to make a very early change in the dugout, chairman David Sullivan and the board will have the time to make a decision.
However, after investing heavily in new recruits in recent days, it is very likely that Potter will be given a chance to turn things around, having been given the backing in the transfer market.
Of course, if results do not change over the coming weeks and months, the pressure to sack Potter and replace him will increase. While Mourinho and Postecoglou are not contenders for the job at the moment, that could change in the future.
