Our under-18s continued their 100% start to the season with a composed 2-0 victory away to Birmingham City on Saturday.
Early goals from Callan Hammill and Alex Marciniak proved decisive, as we made it three wins from three in the league.
### What happened
We flew out of the blocks and took the lead inside six minutes when Hammill rose highest to head home from a Marciniak corner.
Moments later, Marciniak turned scorer himself, producing a superb left-footed finish into the top corner to double our advantage.
The hosts began to settle and came close to halving the deficit through Toby Ugorji’s free-kick, but Jack Talbot produced a fine save to keep them out.
Before the break, we could have extended our lead when Josh Ogunnaike nodded the ball across goal for substitute Marley Frohock, but his effort from close range flew over the bar.
After the interval, Birmingham pressed for a route back into the game, with Kian McCusker testing Talbot, but our goalkeeper stood firm.
Our backline remained solid throughout the remainder of the second half, ensuring we saw out the match with maturity and professionalism.
### What it means
The result preserves our 100% league record this season, with nine points from three games played.
### What’s next
Following the international break, our under-18s return to action on Saturday, September 13, with a London derby against Chelsea.
Kick-off at Sobha Realty Training Centre is at 11am.
