What Tony Vitello said about Joey Aguilar, Vol football's season opener, the state of Vol…

On Tennessee football's season opener against Syracuse, the challenge of starting a season with so much unknown:

"It can make it a little bit more fun. Obviously, there's added stress, but I'm in no shape to compare it to our opening day, because it's such a different sport, and it's so intense to build up for just one game. But it does have a little bit of a parallel to where any scouting report info that you do have, because even though there's a bunch of new faces over on the Syracuse side, our people will still do a lot of homework on the coaching staff, who those players were at their previous schools or in high school. You just don't want to leave any stone unturned. But even if it's a lot of returners, it is a new year, and you don't know what a guy did in the spring, or what he did in the weight room, or how he's different, so going into that opening game and maybe even the first couple of weeks, you have to be prepared to act on your feet as much as anything. And this is where I feel like a staff like Coach Heupel, and I'm talking about Coach Heup in particular, who's got a lot of savvy, he's got in-game experience as a coach, but I think even more so as a player being at that quarterback position, you have to be able to adapt on the run. And I think every team playing this weekend is going to have to adapt, and there's going to be plays that they're not prepared for that the other offense is running, and vice versa too. So it should make for exciting football."
