New coach Simon Wiles has enjoyed a successful start to life at Liverpool, watching his under-18s win 5-1 and 6-1 against Stoke and Burnley, respectively.
Following the young Reds’ 2-1 home loss to Aston Villa in the U18 PL Cup, they bounced back on Saturday lunchtime with a comprehensive dismantling of Burnley as four different scorers found the net.
It took just two minutes for Polish youth international AJ Yeguo to open the scoring, finishing clinically after receiving from Finn Inglethorpe inside the box.
George Brierley then responded quickly for the hosts to level, and the score remained 1-1 until the break, after which Liverpool flexed their dominance.

In a disappointing 2024/25 campaign for the under-18s, Josh Sonni-Lambie and Joe Bradshaw were the standout performers, and they were the two players to put Liverpool out of sight on Saturday.
The former converted a penalty to place Liverpool back in the lead and, in the 52nd minute, Bradshaw followed up his own shot to finish for his first of the day.
Not long after, he combined with right-back DJ Esdaille to set up Sonni-Lambie to finish, before La’More Lee Forrester added Liverpool’s fifth with his first goal at under-18 level.
It was a fantastic solo effort from the first-year scholar, the attacker dribbling down the left and into the box to then beat the ‘keeper.
Bradshaw netted Liverpool’s final goal of a fine afternoon to cap an excellent win for the under-18s, who don’t play again until September 13 when they host Newcastle in Kirkby.
