Curry is the greatest shooter of all time, and it’s not particularly close.
While some fans will scoff at Steph landing this high on the list — ahead of both Larry Bird and Magic Johnson — Curry transformed the game of basketball in a way that neither of those icons ever did, and he isn’t lacking in individual or team accolades, either.
Drafted No. 7 overall by the Golden State Warriors in 2009 out of Davidson, where he was a scoring sensation, Curry didn’t take long to initiate the “Splash Brothers” era in Golden State alongside Klay Thompson.

Kevin Durant’s arrival in the bay made the Warriors completely untouchable, but don’t forget that the trio of Curry, Thompson and Draymond Green won a title before — and after — KD’s tenure.
Steph has four rings, 11 All-Star appearances, and a Finals MVP from 2022. He also has two NBA MVP trophies (including a unanimous one), and he’s led the league in scoring twice.

Of course, Steph holds records for most threes in a season (402 in 2016) and career (over 4,000). As Curry has gotten older, he’s used added strength to become a much better team defender than people give him credit for.

Beyond his otherworldly skill as a shooter, Curry is an underrated, elite ball-handler, and his most stunning assets might be his competitive fire and clutch gene. Curry reached a divine level during the end of that game that only Kobe Bryant has flirted with in the last quarter-century of the sport.
